Young Dancer Summer Camp

Our week-long dance camps are a great way for children to learn about dance, explore their creativity, and make new friends!

Students will participate in a daily ballet class, explore movement concepts and choreography from a classical ballet, and will have fun with themed related arts & crafts! Days are structured to be age appropriate, inspiring, and FUN!

We welcome new students who are ready to dance! Children do not need to have prior ballet experience to participate. Open to students ages 5-11 years old. Classes will be split into two age groups. Appropriate for OBS students in
Pre-Ballet 1, Pre-Ballet 2, Primary, Level 1A & Level 1B.

A discount will be applied after registration when signing up for multiple weeks.
A $35 enrollment fee will be applied for students new to OBS.

Dress Code

• Hair pulled away from face, preferably in a bun if appropriate.
• Girls: Any color/style leotard. Pink ballet tights. Pink ballet slippers. Ballet wrap sweater may be worn over leotard.
• Boys: White t-shirt. Black biker shorts. White socks. White or black ballet slippers.
• Dance attire and footwear can be purchased at the following: Discount Dance Online, Bay Area Dancewear in Berkeley, SF Dancegear, A-1 Dance & Theatrical in Hayward.

Refund Policy

• The $50 *non-refundable deposit is shown and will be processed after registration.
• Balance of fees are due 14 days prior to the first day of camp.
• Students who withdraw within the 7 days before camp begins may request an account credit which can be used towards a different week of Summer Camp or regular summer classes.
• There are no make up classes.
• Refunds will not be given for missed classes.
• *If the camp is cancelled due to low enrollment, the $50 deposit will be refunded.

Summer Intensives

Our week-long intensives are a great opportunity for aspiring dancers to strengthen their classical ballet technique and dive into other forms of dance.

Summer Intensive classes will include ballet technique, pointe & pre-pointe, ballet repertoire/variations, contemporary and conditioning. Additional classes may include jazz, pantomime, character, and pilates. Minimum three years of ballet experience required. Appropriate for OBS students Levels 2 – 6. New students to OBS are welcome!

Ages: 10-18
Dancers will be divided into two-three groups based on current level of technique.

Days: Monday – Friday
Week 1: July 14 – July 18
Week 2: July 21 – July 25

Tuition
One Week: $510
Two Weeks: $969

• Girls: Black leotard, any style. Pink ballet tights with pink ballet slippers or skin toned tights with coordinating ballet slippers. Short black ballet skirt for repertoire/variations.

Summer Classes 2025

5 Week Summer Session: July 12 – August 9
Pre-Ballet, Primary, and Level 1A/B classes will be held on Saturdays for a 5 week session.
Tuition listed is for the full summer session. OBS students should enroll in the same level as in the Winter/Spring semester.
Dancers new to ballet (ages 4-10) are welcome to join this session based on the guidelines below.

Classes begin July 28. The tuition fee listed is per week.
Please note in the comments which weeks your student will be attending. Tuition will be adjusted thereafter.
OBS students should enroll in the same level as in the 2024-2025 school year.

Summer Session Dress Code

• Boys: Fitted White t-shirt. Black biker shorts or tights. White socks. White or black ballet slippers.
• Dance attire and footwear can be purchased at the following: Discount Dance Online, Move Me Boutique in Berkeley, Contra Costa Dancewear, SF Dancegear, A-1 Dance & Theatrical in Hayward.

Hair
Pre-Ballet: Hair pulled away from face, preferably in a bun if appropriate.
Level 1 and up: Hair in a neat bun. Long bangs pulled back and pinned away from the face.
