Young Dancer Summer Camp

Get Inspired by Dance This Summer!

We offer week-long dance camps where students participate in daily ballet classes, explore movement concepts and choreography from classical ballets, and enjoy themed arts & crafts!

Open to children ages 5-11 years old. New students to OBS are welcome! No prior ballet experience is required to participate. If needed, classes will be split into two groups based on age. Appropriate for OBS students in:
Pre-Ballet 1, Pre-Ballet 2, Primary, and Level 1A/B.

A $35 enrollment fee will be applied for students new to OBS.

After care is available from 12:00-1:00.
– $15 per day
– 4 student minimum

Dress Code

• Hair pulled away from face, preferably in a bun if appropriate.
• Girls: Any color/style leotard. Pink ballet tights. Pink ballet slippers. Ballet wrap sweater may be worn over leotard.
• Boys: White t-shirt. Black biker shorts. White socks. White or black ballet slippers.
• Dance attire and footwear can be purchased at the following locations:
  Bay Area Dancewear in Berkeley, SF Dance Gear – Walnut Creek & SF locations, A-1 Dance & Theatrical in Hayward.

Refund Policy

• The $50 non-refundable deposit is shown and will be processed after registration.
• Balance of fees are due 14 days prior to the first day of camp.
• Students who withdraw within 7 days before camp begins may request an account credit which can be used towards a different week of Summer Camp or regular summer classes.
• There are no make up classes.
• Refunds will not be given for missed classes.
• If the camp is cancelled due to low enrollment, the $50 deposit will be refunded.

Summer Intensives

Elevate your training this summer with our immersive, week-long dance intensives designed for aspiring dancers. This program offers a rigorous focus on ballet technique while expanding your horizons into diverse movement styles.

• Session 1: July 13 – July 17
• Session 2: July 20 – July 24
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10:00a – 4:00p
• Tuition: $555 one week | $1,010 two weeks ($100 discount)

Core Curriculum

• Ballet Technique: Sharpen your foundational skills.
• Pointe & Pre-Pointe: Build strength and stability.
• Variations & Repertoire: Learn iconic classical choreography.
• Contemporary: Explore modern fluidity and expression.

Supplemental training may include Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), Character, Pilates, or Jazz.

Program Details

• Dancers will be divided into two-three groups based on current level of technique.
• Participants must have at least three years of prior ballet training.
• Open to OBS students in Levels 2 – 6.

Summer Classes 2026

5 Week Summer Session: July 11 – August 8
Pre-Ballet, Primary, and Level 1A/B classes will be held on Saturdays for a 5 week session.
Tuition listed is for the full summer session.
OBS students should enroll in the same level as in the 2025-2026 school year.
Dancers new to ballet (ages 4-10) are welcome to join this session based on the guidelines below.

Summer Session Dress Code

• Girls: Any color/style leotard. Pink ballet tights. Pink ballet slippers. Students in Level 1 and above may wear ballet tights that most closely match their skin tone, along with coordinating ballet slippers.
• Boys: Fitted White t-shirt.
  Black biker shorts or leggings, White socks, White ballet slippers.
  Or, Black footed tights, Black ballet slippers.
• Dance attire and footwear can be purchased at the following:
  SF Dance Gear – Walnut Creek, Bay Area Dance Wear (Berkeley), A-1 Dance & Theatrical (Hayward).

Hair
Pre-Ballet: Hair pulled away from face, preferably in a bun if appropriate.
Level 1 and up: Hair in a neat bun. Long bangs pulled back and pinned away from the face.
No dangly jewelry or accessories.
