Dress Code & Student Conduct

Dress Code & Student Conduct

For proper training of our students, we’ve instituted a dress code. This enables our teachers to correctly assess placement of dancers’ bodies. When registering for classes, we ask all registrants to take note of these important procedures listed below.

Dress Code

Proper grooming and personal hygiene are an important part of the ballet discipline. Students are expected to provide their own hair supplies (hair ties, bobby pins, hair nets) and attend class in clean ballet attire. It is recommended that our youngest students label their dance clothes and shoes with their name.

Hair

Pre-Ballet & Primary  Hair should be pulled away from face and neck in a ponytail, preferably in a bun. Hair that is too short for a bun or ponytail must be pulled back with a secure headband.

Level 1-5  All girls must have their hair secured in a bun. Students with long bangs need to have hair pinned back with hair clips or pulled back with a secure headband.

Student Conduct

Students should arrive ready for class or allow themselves time to get ready at the studio before the start of class time. Arriving late can be a distraction to the class and doesn’t allow the student to properly warm-up the body’s muscles beginning with floor-barre. Students arriving 15min after the start of class may be asked to observe and take notes, rather than participate, at the teacher’s discretion.

All dancers should arrive and leave the studio with warm-up clothes over their dance attire or in street clothing.
